New players for attractive City of Bradford

Lee Skipsey and the City of Bradford Band are on the recruitment trial — with three new players already joining the ranks.

Lee Skipsey is putting out a clear and attractive musical message

The City of Bradford Band has been busy on the recruitment front, with the top-flight Yorkshire band announcing the signing of a number of new players.

New trio

The talented Stefanie Payne joins the percussion section from Drighlington, whilst the vastly experienced Gordon Eddison takes his place in the tuba section.

Meanwhile, Gordon's son Dan comes in on principal trombone after just finishing his masters degree in Glasgow studying under Simon Johnson. He has also been playing with the BBC Scottish and Scottish Chamber Orchestras, as well as a time with Scottish champion Whitburn and the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland.

It's an exciting time for City of Bradford as an organisation at present as we continue to develop and grow, and attracting these committed players shows that our musical message is becoming very attractive to players who wish to join usLee Skipsey

More to come

And whilst welcoming the new additions, MD, Lee Skipsey told 4BR that there are more signings to come.

"These are just three of the six players coming into the band for the second half of the contest year. The band is constantly evolving and I feel these are the type of banding people that make fantastic bandsmen and women — talented, fun to be with and fully committed.

It's an exciting time for City of Bradford as an organisation at present as we continue to develop and grow, and attracting these committed players shows that our musical message is becoming very attractive to players who wish to join us."
