Christmas is coming... so get your collections ready

World of Brass is publishing a new 'Christmas Collection' carol book in plenty of time for the festive season — so make sure you don't miss out on playing the best tunes...

Carol
The new 'Christmas Collection' has lots more festive carols and tunes to enjoy

World of Brass is making sure bands will be musically well prepared for the all important festive season this year (which is closer then you may think!) with the launch of a new Christmas carol book, entitled 'Christmas Collection'.

Available from 8th September, it is an updated version of the popular 'New Christmas Praise' book which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.

'Christmas Collection' contains many of the same carols and arrangements, but also has 46 additional or newly arranged carols and songs as well as 10 popular Christmas marches and carol arrangements that have been reprinted from the 'Sounds of Christmas' journal.

Revise

Andrew Blyth, Head of Music Editorial for The Salvation Army, told 4BR: "'New Christmas Praise' has become a staple for music groups across the country, but we felt that after 25 years it was time to revise it.

There were some pieces that needed improved arrangements and we had a selection of popular Christmas pieces that we wanted to add.

We've taken this opportunity to think really carefully about how best to provide for bands, and I think we've created a very good book that will cater to all music groups' needs".

Further information:

'Christmas Collection' is available in full score, brass and wind band parts, words & music (piano) and words only.

The wide range of parts allows ensembles of any size to navigate through the full Christmas repertoire. The words & music piano book contains only the sacred Christmas carols, and also features guitar chords.

The new book has also provided the opportunity for a new A4 format version to be produced for the parts and words only versions, with music in larger print.
