The British Open Championship has announced that proceedings at this year's 166th event will be filmed by the award winning television production company Twofour.

Twofour produces original broadcast programming across all major UK broadcasters, and was awarded the prestigious 'Best Indie Production Company' title in 2010 and 2014. It has produced series such as The Real Marigold Hotel (BBC 2), the Emmy Award winning series Educating Yorkshire (Channel 4), and the long-running The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5).

Sky Arts series

Karyn and Martin Mortimer received a request following TwoFour being commissioned to make a series about UK brass banding. Cameras will be positioned around the Symphony Hall auditorium to facilitate filming.

The four part series to be shown on Sky Arts TV, will follow a number of Britain's elite bands as they compete in the season's most prestigious contests, including The British Open.

The aim of the series is to shine a light on the skill, diversity and commitment of the musicians. It also looks at the growing need for bands to stay innovative on the international stage, whilst at the same time, honouring tradition.
