Concorde set to fly again in Bristol

Music inspired by the iconic supersonic jet will be reprised in a special concert in Bristol later this month.

St George's Bristol
The concert will take place at St George's Hall in Bristol

Composer Liz Lane's acclaimed work, 'Innovation 216' originally commissioned in 2017 to celebrate the last supersonic Concorde jet, is due to take to the air once again.

Overdue

It will be a well overdue reprise for a work inspired by Bristol's historic aerospace industry, and especially its connection to the iconic airplane, and will feature no less than 270 performers at St George's Hall in Bristol on Saturday 29th September — including massed bands and choirs.

Also featured in repertoire provided by Lydbrook, City of Bristol and Lydney Bands alongside the Gurt Lush Choir, Bristol MAN Chorus and members of the UWE Singers conducted by Ian Holmes and Sam Burns will be music with an aviation flavour.

The original concert proved to be a huge success with one critic calling it, "...an immersive, memorable and moving love letter to Bristol's aviation story4BR

Memorable and moving
