Burns nights at Kirkintilloch

Kirkintilloch take another big step forward in their rejuvenation plans as they appoint a new Resident Conductor and add to their player ranks.

Signings
The two new arrivals have boosted the band

The rejuvenation of Kirkintilloch Band has taken another significant step forward after the band announced the appointment of Craig Burns as its new Resident Conductor and the return of Gordon Buist on solo cornet.

Conductor and player

Craig currently leads the Highland Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland and joins the former Scottish Champion following an enjoyable period as Resident Conductor at Newtongrange.

Meanwhile, Gordon rejoins after playing with Johnstone Band and adds welcome strength to the front row cornet team.

Significant step

Band Manager John Needham told 4BR: "This is another significant step in our process of building a solid foundation for the band.

We welcome both Craig and Gordon and we will be hopefully announcing further signings in the coming weeks."
