Bolsover Festival delight as event reaches all corners of the globe

Organisers of the Bolsover Festival of Brass have been delighted by the feedback received from around the banding world to their live streamed event.

Hepworth's winning performance in the Championship Section was broadcast around the banding globe.

The Bolsover Festival of Brass continues to make a remarkable impact across the banding world, with a record number of viewers logging in to this year's live-streaming of the event.

Around the world

People from as far afield as South Africa, the USA and New Zealand, the majority of European countries and all parts of the UK enjoyed nearly 12 non-stop hours of broadcasting from the Heritage High School in Clowne, with entertainment sets provided by the 49 competitors.

"We were delighted at how the day went and how the contest continues to reach out to all corners the banding world,"event organiser Carole Hirst told 4BR.

"Well over 23,000 people enjoyed the music making on-line, and my thanks go not only to the competing bands who were all superb, but to the production team led by James and Sarah Parkinson for the way in which they captured the action and brought the entertainment directly to people on their mobile phones, tables and home PCs."

Further improve

She added: "The feedback we have had has been so encouraging and we will be looking to further improve on the contest day experience for competitors, contest day supporters and on-line audience for 2019."

Carole told 4BR that the innovative Audience Prize, sponsored by Warwick Music Group was also a great success, with hundreds of people taking the time to vote on-line for their favourite bands in order of preference in the Championship Section.

"That was something that really thrilled us,"she said. "It showed that people were really engaged with the contest day and were listening with interest.

My thanks go to Warwick Music Group and all our other sponsors for their support as it enabled us to draw in worldwide interest to the event once more."
