The reigning North American National Champion Fountain City Brass Band will be making a detour to Salford before they head north to Sage Gateshead this weekend for their appearance at the Brass in Concert Championship.

Free open rehearsal

As part of a new collaborative project, the University of Salford will welcome the band from Kansas City for a special free open rehearsal on Saturday 17th November with Salford conducting students, starting at 10.30am.

The band is being followed by a team from Twofour Productions who are making a programme to be aired on Sky Arts and who will be recording highlights that will include a number of the band's outstanding soloists.
