Scottish Youth get final Porthouse reminder

If you want to enjoy being part of the National Youth Brass Bands of Scotland — then why not get in touch and enjoy yourselves under the baton of Ian Porthouse and his colleagues.

The National Youth Brass Band of Scotland is making a final call to young players interested in joining the band for its exciting Easter Course.

It will be held at Strathallan School in Perthshire under new Musical Director Ian Porthouse. He will be joined by conductors John Boax, Alan Fernie and Musical Director Emeritus Richard Evans from 11th to 14th April on a course that will see them working with the joint senior and reserve bands.

World premiere

With invaluable funding from Creative Scotland's Youth Music Initiative (YMI), the combined band will also premiere a commissioned work by Tom Davoren featuring former NYBBS and current Fairey Band solo horn, Rachel Neil.

Putney and Wimbledon Brass Band

January 8 • Following our promotion to the 2nd section we are looking for a percussionist to do a bit of bing bonging on the timps for the regionals in March. We are a lovely band - everyone says so - so please get in touch. Rehearsals Weds from 1930 in Putney.
