Richard Marshall is looking forward to leading his annual Cornet Spotlight masterclass

Black Dyke principal cornet Richard Marshall will once again lead his 'Cornet Spotlight' masterclass at the forthcoming Black Dyke Festival at Leeds Town Hall on Sunday 2nd June.

The spotlight has become an essential part of the event and is open to players of Grade 5 standard and above.

Great music

Richard will lead delegates through a warm-up session, technical exercises and practice routines, as well as developing strategies to help improve sight reading and performance issues.

There will be plenty of great music to get your teeth into, with the classic 'Bugler's Holiday' being the fun piece that will also be featured alongside Black Dyke in the end of day Gala Concert played to a packed audience.

Throughout the masterlcass session delegates will be joined by members of the Black Dyke cornet section, who will also be on hand with help and advice.
