Eisteddfod closing date looms

Bands wishing to enter the televised brass band contests at the National Eisteddfod of Wales need to get their entries and music in fast.

  The National Eisteddfod of Wales is taking place in Llanrwst in Conway this year

The National Eisteddfod of Wales is reminding brass bands that its closing date to enter the event to be held in Llanrwst in Conway later this year is fast approaching.

Brass Bands have played an important part of the event for well over 140 years, with the various sections broadcast live on the S4C broadcaster.

Sections

The joint Championship/First Section requires bands to provide a 20 minute programme of a minimum of three items if they are to claim the solid silver Cwpan Catrawd Tiriogaethwyr Sir Y Flint trophy and £750 first prize, whilst there is a £500 first prize in each of the Second, Third and Fourth Sections.

Bands in those sections must provide a 15 minute programme of a minimum of three items.

The contest will be held on the weekend of the 3rd/4th August and those interested must send their own choice-pieces to the organiser by 15th June at:
