New secretarial lead in Yorkshire

Robert Turnbull takes over the Yorkshire Regional secretarial duties from Peggy Tomlinson.

Yorkshire
Robert Turnbull have taken over as Yorkshire Regional Championship secretary.

Robert Turnbull has officially taken over from Peggy Tomlinson as the new Yorkshire Regional Secretary.

Robert has served on the regional committee for many years, latterly as Chairman, and is also the secretary of Hade Edge Band and a member of the organising committee for the Holme Valley Contest.

In her last address in the role, Peggy Tomlinson said; "Can I say a big 'Thank You' for the help and support everyone has given me over the years, both in publishing press releases and at the Yorkshire Regional Championships. To know I could rely on your assistance was invaluable and greatly appreciated."

Wide experience

She added: "Robert has a wide experience in banding and is an ideal choice for the role. I wish him every success and I'm sure the bands will work with him, as they have with me, to maintain the high standard expected of the Yorkshire Championships."

Peggy will still remain in contact with the event as an advisor to the committee and, at their invitation as a proud Yorkshire Regional President, one she was delighted to accept.

Communication

Any communication regarding the Yorkshire Regional Championships should now be made to Robert Turnbull via email, secretary@yrbbc.co.uk or telephone 07512 600602.
