Report & Results: 2019 City of Coventry & Warwickshire Brass Festival

The 10th annual event was a showcase for some great performances.

Trophies
There were plenty of trophies to be won at the annual festival

There was a fine line-up of musical talent on show at the recent City of Coventry & Warwickshire Brass Festival which took place at the Band Factory in Leamington Spa.

10th annual event

This was the 10th annual event, and the first since festival founders Lesley and Mark Howarth relocated to the north of England. The new team, headed by Kirsty Hooper and Sheila Allen were thrilled at the response, with entries from ten local bands and a very high standard of playing throughout the day.

The excellent adjudicator was Simon Oates, aided by accompanists Paul Webber and Mark Phillips.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Many thanks to all who took part, and many congratulations to our winners. The provisional date for next year's Festival is Sunday 28 June 2020 — please put it in your diaries!"

Adjudicator: Simon Oates
