Yamaha delight at Dowdeswell signing

The acclaimed big band trumpeter and producer Louis Dowdeswell has joined Yamaha's stable of international performance artists.

Yamaha has announced the signing of the internationally acclaimed trumpet player Louis Dowdeswell to its stable of performance artists.

With over 15 million views online for his critically acclaimed Big Band, the pioneering trumpeter and producer is leading a resurgent interest in the genre. The 25 year old completed his degree at the Royal Academy of Music in 2016 and has since taken the London music scene by storm.

Choosing direction

He told 4BR: "There's nothing to equal the sheer exhilaration and intensity of making great music with friends. There's a million ways to interpret the dots and I love the instinctive freedom of choosing my direction. "

He added: "As a trumpet player, my focus is on sound and attention to detail. I like things to be played with a certain degree of commitment and intensity."

Louis has already performed and recorded with a stellar list of artists including Michael Buble, Robbie Williams, Seal, Zac Brown and Alfie Boe and his television credits include the X-Factor and the BBC's Children in Need.

High demand

A Yamaha spokesperson told 4BR: "Louis is an extremely versatile player and in is also in high demand in orchestral settings with credits that include the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, English National Orchestra and the English Session Orchestra in addition to many West End Musical credits.

We are delighted that he will perform on the Yamaha Commercial Trumpet YTR-6335RC and the Yamaha Custom Z YFH-6310Z flugel horn. We couldn't be more excited to welcome him to the Yamaha family."
