Battle of the Bands already on repeat

The forthcoming Sky Arts Battle of the Bands series is already set for repeated viewing...

  The first programme will focus on the Whit Friday contests

Following the news that the first hour long episode of the Sky Arts series 'Battle of the Brass Bands' will be aired on Tuesday 20th August (8.00pm), it has also been confirmed that the programme featuring the Whit Friday march contests will be repeated on Wednesday 21st August on Sky Arts (12.00am to1:00am).

Well made

The television critics are certainly looking forward to it, with The Radio Times saying that it was, 'the kind of warm and well made programme that deserves a wider audience'.

It will also been again on Thursday 22nd August on Sky Arts (10.00pm to 11.00pm); Friday 23rd August on Sky Arts (2.00pm to 3.00pm) and again on Sunday 25th August on Sky Arts (3.00pm to 4.00pm).

Made by the award-winning production company Twofour on behalf of Sky Arts, it will showcase the competitive talents of some of the UKs most famous bands as they compete against each other at the Whit Friday, British Open, National Final and Brass in Concert Championships.

December 6 • We require a Bb Bass player & kit percussionist to join our busy 2nd Section (North West) band immediately for Butlins and Area contests and beyond under the guidance of our new MD Phil Goodwin. Rehearsals Monday & Thursday 8-10pm in Saddleworth.


Wakefield Metropolitan Brass Band

December 5 • Solo Horn and Flugelhorn/Cornet required to complete the line up for the areas next year. A friendly band with a sensible engagement list and can arrange transport from Wakefield stations. Rehearsals Monday and Thursday 7:45-9:30


Longridge Band

December 5 • The Longridge Band (First Section North West) currently requires a percussionist.. . The band is one of the most well organised and run bands in the area, with a good mixture of contests/concerts and social activities planned for 2020.
