Delegates already booked in for 2020 IBBSS

The success of the recent International Brass Band Summer School in Swansea has already seen people signing up for 2020.

IBBSS
The International Brass Band Summer School is already welcoming 2020 delegates

The success of the 2019 International Brass Band Summer School recently held in Swansea under the baton of Prof Nicholas Childs was such that a host delegates from all over the world signed up for the 2020 event before they even left Wales for home.

Warm welcome

"We pride ourselves on the warm welcome we give the 150 delegates from all over the world,"Prof Childs told 4BR, "But, to have so many already sign up for next year before we even had the chance to say goodbye after the end of course concert was incredible!"

The Black Dyke Director of Music believes that the combination of world class tuition and fun, great music and friendship has made the IBBSS such a success.

"I want the delegates to enjoy themselves, but to broaden their musical horizons too. That's why we are joined by outstanding tutors and perform challenging but accessible music.

We want the players to express themselves in everything they do — and they certainly do that — from solo sports and ensemble features to the some of the bizarre answers on the fun packed quiz night!"

Organisation

He added: "The organisation behind the course is so important and it's so heartening to hear the thanks given to the team lead by Alison and Rebecca.

The support we get from our sponsors enables us to give the delegates an outstanding musical experience, so I can't wait to welcome everyone again to Swansea — where the sun always shines for us — next year."
