Talented quartet joins City of Cardiff ranks

The City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) Band has welcomed four new talented players to their ranks.

The City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) Band has announced four new signings as they look ahead to the second half of the 2019 contesting season.

Quartet

The talented quartet of Ed Goodman (soprano), Rose Hancock (solo baritone), Jacques Segrott (third cornet) and Kieran Richards (percussion) have joined the ranks.

Ed, has played with the National Youth Band of Great Britain and City of Bristol, whilst Rose is also a former NYBBGB member and joins from Wantage Band after coming to Cardiff to study at the Royal Welsh College.

Kieran comes in after enjoying spells with M2 and BTM Bands, whilst Jacques has been a member of the National Youth Brass Band of Wales.

Looking forward

All are looking forward to joining the progressive Welsh outfit with Ed telling 4BR: "Playing for City of Cardiff has already been a brilliant experience. I'm really looking forward to playing with friends from the NYBBGB again and continuing to develop as a player."

Rose agreed: "I'm delighted to begin a new chapter with City of Cardiff M1. I really enjoyed my first concert engagement so it's great to be on board."
