Ashworth helps with intensive study

The experienced conductor David W Ashworth has made one of his regular trips to the Netherlands to help with the intensive National preparations of Felison Brass.

Felison Brass
David Ashworth has made an eighth successive trip to the Netherlands

Conductor David W Ashworth recently travelled to the Netherlands for the eighth successive time to attend the annual 'Intensive Study Weekend' with the Felison Brass Band in Velsen-Nord, Amsterdam.

Major works

The weekend saw the band concentrating on two major works of 'An English Pastorale' by Dean Jones and 'The Journal of Phileas Fogg' by Peter Graham ahead of their National Championship appearance later this month. David was joined by tutors and Felison conductors Ron Mostaard and Alan Gibson.

The weekend concluded with a well attended concert on Sunday afternoon where the band, conducted by Alan and David performed a full programme included both study pieces. The performance was very well accepted by a very appreciative audience of musicians and the general public.

Anniversary concert

David will be returning to Holland, to take part in a Grand Concert at De Stek on Saturday 30th November, where Felison Brass will celebrate their 60th Anniversary alongside former players and conductors.
