4BR has been informed that entries are coming in at a steady rate for the forthcoming annual Holme Valley Solo & Ensemble competition which will be held at Hade Edge bandroom on Saturday 9th November.

More pies!

Organiser, Graham Bates told 4BR: "We've already got 36 entries from 13 different bands / organisations, which is 50% up on the final numbers last year, so it looks like we'll need to get a lot more pies and cakes.

Naturally there's always going to be clashes with something but the new November date seems to have worked in terms of numbers".

There will be the usual friendly welcome, and the same sections and special awards as in previous years. Leigh Baker, fresh from his success leading South Yorkshire Police band to the Second Section National Finals title will be the adjudicator.
