Crofton Silver Band has announced the signing of Dale Hopkins on first horn as they continue to strengthen their ranks ahead of their first year competing in the Championship Section.

Dale brings with him a wealth of top flight banding experience, on Solo and First Horn, having moved from Derbyshire to Yorkshire in the summer.

MD Dean Jones told 4BR: "It's great to be able to sign such a talented musician who has already fitted seamlessly into the Crofton team.

It was a shame to lose our previous member Chris McDonald, but travelling from Ripley was proving too difficult. We would like to thank Chris for all he did for the band during his tenure."
