Pemberton
Tom Smith becomes the new principal cornet at Pemberton

Pemberton Old Wigan DW Band has announced a brace of new signings ahead of the 2020 contest season.

RNCM student Tom Smith takes on the principal cornet role, whilst the experienced Chris Musgrave joins on soprano cornet.

Tom joins from Grimethorpe Colliery Band, whilst Chris has gained a respected top flight reputation from his time playing with Milnrow.

Delighted

Musical Director Ben Dixon told 4BR: "Tom offers so much potential and we're delighted to appoint him as our new top man.

It's also great that Chris has joined on soprano and his playing speaks for itself. These two players will strengthen our cornet section perfectly.

These two players will strengthen our cornet section perfectlyMD, Ben Dixon

Thanks

He added: "I would also like to thank both Joanne Johnson and Ashley Marston who have unfortunately had to step down from their positions in the band due to work commitments. They have been outstanding players for the band."
