Volunteer service brings Littleport back to full strength

The Littleport Band is back to full strength ahead of its Area title challenge with a brave volunteer and a great young talent boosting the ranks.

Littleport Brass
The band is now back to full strength ahead of its Area challenge

Littleport Brass is back to full playing strength in time for their London & Southern Counties Area Third Section challenge in Stevenage next month.

Joining the ranks on percussion is Bev Norman who normally plays euphonium with Somersham Town Band. She joins her daughter Avril who has been playing with the band for over a year now.

Talented 12 year old Dexter Speed also joins the horn section. He hails from East Coast Brass but is also a member of Dereham Band, the National Children's Band of Great Britain, Grimethorpe Youth Band and Oxfordshire Youth Band.

Pleased

Commenting on the new arrivals, MD Ian Knapton told 4BR: "It's great to complete our line-up for the Area contest.

I'm pleased that we found a brilliant volunteer in Bev to take up the challenge of the percussion and I'm also looking forward to working with Dexter who is already developing into a very good player."
