Eikanger Bjørsvik Band has announced that former principal cornet Henning Anundsen will return to the role of principal cornet with the band from August this year.

He will take over from Yamaha artist Stanley Westh who is returning to his job with the Royal Military Band in Copenhagen.

Henning played with Eikanger from 1993 to 2014, the latter six as principal cornet. Since then he has enjoyed highly successful spells in the role with Bjørsvik Brass and Krohnengen Brass Band.

Thrilled

He told 4BR: "I'm thrilled by the chance of returning to Eikanger, and I'm really motivated for this challenge."

A band spokesperson added: "We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Stanley Westh, for doing such a superb job over the two last seasons.

Everybody in the band really hopes that there will be the possibility that he can join us to perform in concerts before he returns to Denmark this summer."
