A new music publishing company has been launched by composer, journalist and designer Andrew Wainwright.

BrookWright Music aims to publish high-quality music for brass band, brass ensemble, wind band and solo instruments.

Well known

Well known composers Andrew Barrington, Andrew E. Lawson, Dave Collins, Jonathan Mead, Dr. Keith M. Wilkinson, Dr. Kenneth Downie, Dr. Liz Lane, J. Aaron Stanley, Joshua Tyler Jameson, Kevin Larsson, Phil Rayment, William Himes and William Gordon have already signed up as well as Andrew himself.

Andrew told 4BR: "BrookWright is offering each title a 'follow-the-score' video with high-quality audio or a performance video, and PDFs of the music are available for immediate download.

There is also a currency converter and those wishing to buy the sheet music, this will be available from Solid Brass Music Company. Solid Brass is in the process of setting up a new website after which BrookWright's music will be available from them.

All titles will be edited by Andrew and proofread by Nick Simmons-Smith, who is currently the Territorial Music Secretary for The Salvation Army in the USA Southern Territory.

Excited

Andrew added: "We are very excited to launch this new publishing house, which will provide a wide range of music for the brass band medium.

We are particularly focusing on music for small ensemble and are publishing a number of excellent solos and duets with piano accompaniment. Our ensemble music is arranged with flexible instrumentation, meaning numerous combinations of groups will be able to perform them."

Attracted

Speaking about his new link, composer Kenneth Downie said: "I was especially attracted to Brookwright Music because of their flexible approach to distribution and the facility for customers to see and hear new music on the website before purchasing."

Meanwhile, renowned cornet soloist Dr. Phillip McCann commented: "The website is attractively laid out, with everything readily and easily accessible.

The house composers/arrangers encompass a wide range of talents and abilities — all of whom are household names in the brass band world."
