New music publisher brings creative repertoire to banding

Dan Jenkins Music aims to bring a new creative angle to works for the brass band medium.

A new publishing company has been set up with the aim of bringing new and exciting repertoire to the brass band world.

It is the creation of Dan Jenkins, the highly respected sub-principal trombone of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and first trombone of the City of London Sinfonia.

Successful niche

With a background in the brass band world, Dan has already created a successful niche with his works, which have been performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra amongst others, and he is now exploring the brass band canvas with the launch of a new series of ten new pieces for the medium, with others already in the pipeline.

His inventiveness is shown by his eclectic inspiration — from Bach to Steve Reich, waltzes to trombone quartets, rockets and ghosts. He's also written a children's book, essay articles and more besides.
