It has been announced that British Bandsman magazine, first produced in 1887 is up for sale through its owner IBB Media Ltd.

Originally produced as a monthly magazine "For Bandsmasters and Members of Military and Brass Bands'. It became a weekly magazine in 1902, and despite some periods when it was published fortnightly, was recognised as the oldest weekly music publication by the Guinness Book of Records.

Different owners

It has been published by different owners in recent years — passing from Kapitol Media & Events to the Salvation Army in 2004.

It was subsequently taken over by KGC Media Ltd in 2015, during which time it ended its weekly hard copy publication and became an on-line, multi-media content magazine.

IBB Media Ltd took over ownership in 2018.
