Buxton Festival of Brass returns

The popular North West Area Brass Band Association contest returns this weekend.

  The contest takes place in the wonderful surrounding of Buxton

The organisers of the Buxton Festival of Brass have announced the line-up of competing bands that will take to the stage at the event on Sunday 15th May.

It sees the return to the North West Area Brass Bands Association contest after a three year break with 16 competitors out to impress adjudicator James Holt with their own choice selections in four sections.

Important to return

A NWABBA spokesperson told 4BR: "The number of bands is lower than normal but we felt it was important for everyone to make the return to try and build up the local contesting opportunities after the extended break."

Wristbands for entry into the contest which commences at 10.30am can only be purchased on the day and are £7 (under 5s free)
