Banding world to pay its respects to Richard Evans

The brass band world will be able to pay its respects to the legendary brass band conductor Richard Evans.

  The service will be held on Monday 16th May

The brass banding world will be given the opportunity to pay its respects to the legendary conductor Richard Evans, when he funeral takes place on Monday 16th May.

The service will commence at 11.00am at Longton St Andrew's Church, Liverpool Road, Longton (PR5 5DL), where a band will perform under the direction of Ian Porthouse starting at 10.30am.

Parking is available within a short walk at Longton Victory Memorial Club, School Lane, Longton (PR4 5DL). Permission has been given but people are asked to try and use the over spill car park.

Share stories

All celebrants are invited to share stories and reminisce with light refreshments following the service at, The Venue, Hoole Village Memorial Hall (PR4 4QA).

Internment is at Hill Road Cemetery, 20 Poplar Drive (PR1 9AA). If you do not wish to attend the internment people are welcome to proceed to The Venue, where light refreshments will be served. Dress as you feel suits the occasion and the life of Richard Evans. Family flowers only.

Donations

Donations in remembrance will be made to British Heart Foundation and Leyland Band.
