The Milnrow Band has announced that John Doyle has stepped down from his role as Musical Director with immediate effect.

A work promotion has added additional demands on his professional time and family life, with John wishing to enable himself to spend time with them with this break from banding.

Thoroughly enjoyed

He told 4BR: "I've thoroughly enjoyed the past two years with Milnrow and feel that the band is very special indeed.

I really hope we can work together again in the future as they fully understand why I have had to make this really difficult decision. I really do wish the band well in the future."

We thank John for having played such a large part in getting the band back and playing to such a high level after the Covid-19 breakMilnrow Band

Huge part

A band spokesperson added: "We are understandably sad to have lost such a forward thinking and energetic MD, but fully understand and support John's decision ay such an important time in his family life.
