4BR has been informed of the death of the respected Clacton-on-Sea Co-operative Chairperson Barry Aldous.
Barry joined the band aged 8 years of age and had been Chairperson since 1988. In his teens he was a member of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain on flugel horn, eventually moving onto baritone in the past eight years with Redbridge Brass.
Terribly missed
Ann Headworth, Band Secretary of Clacton on Sea Co-operative Band told 4BR: "Barry will be so terribly missed by both bands and by all who knew and loved him. A very dedicated bandsman, a very talented player and a perfect gentleman.
Much love and deepest sympathy is sent to the family."
The funeral will take place on Tuesday 28th June (1.30pm) at Seven Hills Crematorium, Felixstowe Road, Nacton (IP10 0FG).
