Keep an eye for Sheeran in Tameside

There may be traffic congestion to contend with if you are making your way to Tameside Whit Friday this year — thanks to a certain Ed Sheeran.

Bands and supporters making their way to enjoy the fantastic return of the Whit Friday march contests in Tameside on Friday 10th June need to make sure they take into account another musical attraction.

Junction 23

Pop star Ed Sheeran is performing a series of concerts at Manchester City Football Club's Ethihad Stadium, which is close to junction 23 of the M60. Police has already issued warnings that there is the potential for delays in the movement of traffic around the area which is an important link to the Tameside area.

Stalybridge Street Fest

Meanwhile, in Stalybridge bands should also be mindful that the popular Stalybridge Street Fest will be taking place in the town centre. There may well be a number of small diversions of traffic and increased footfall in the area as a result.
