The festival takes place at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire later this month

The British Trombone Festival will take place at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire over the weekend of the 29th & 30th October.

British Trombone Society President Simon Minshall told 4BR: "The festival promises to be a true celebration of our wonderful instrument. It going to be packed full of performances, masterclasses, competitions, massed blows, group warm-ups, trade stands, and more.

This is a chance to meet old friends and new, learn from the experts and most importantly, perform together."

Star attractions

Simon confirmed that joining the action will be Ian Bousfield, Callum Au, Chris Augustine, Emily White, Katy Jones, Chris Thomas, Tony Boorer, Slide Action and The Royal Air Force Trombone Ensemble, whilst there will also be a fantastic 'Saturday Night Jazz Club' featuring Rory Ingham's Trombone Assembly.

He added: "We have made sure that something is planned for everyone, of all ages, abilities and styles of playing."

Secret lesson

One of the great attractions is the chance to sign up for a 'Secret Lesson'. If you would like to sign up for a free 20-minute secret lesson, please send an email to: secretary@britishtrombonesociety.org
