Morley Town Hall will host the second of its 'Leeds Best of Brass' series of concerts this weekend, when the Leyland Band will be featured under the baton of Thomas Wyss.
The North West band will showcase a wide variety of music — from Rossini to Stan Kenton, Gershwin to William Himes. The band's soloists will also be out in force too — with features for cornet, horn, soprano and tuba with Iain Culross, Rebecca Doyle, Sacheus Holloway-Jones and Chris Doran.
Varied mix
The band is certainly excited by making their appearance, with cornet player, Haruna Mukoguchi saying: "Our audiences expect not just quality playing, but an enjoyable and varied mix of music which entertains them. That's what we will bring to our performance in Morley."
Haruna has bene playing with the band for the past four years and added: "I love playing in a brass band because all the players are trying to make the best brass music together, and the challenge of playing so many different styles of music with just brass and percussion."
