Hepworth aim for Scottish Open Groundhog Day

A great bit of sponsorship could be just the right owmen for Hepworth Band as they look to regain the Scottish Open title they last won in 2004.

Hepworth
Hepworth won the Scottish Open in 2004

The Hepworth Band will be hoping for a brass band version of Groundhog Day as they head north this weekend to compete at the Scottish Open Championships in Perth.

The band lifted the title way back in 2004, and returns for the first time since then, hoping like Bill Murray in the famous film, that history repeats itself.

Groundhog help

If it does it would be a wonderful way to celebrate the partnership link between the band and Groundhog UK Ltd which has given the band its support for the trip.

Band Manager Yvonne Embury told 4BR: "We're looking forward to our final contest of the season following our recent success at the Dr Martin Contest. We're really grateful to Groundhog UK Ltd for supporting the band as we return to compete at the Scottish Open Championships — and we hope the connection proves a good omen."

Open rehearsal

The band will be hosting an open rehearsal on Wednesday (November 23rd — 8.00pm prompt) at the Hade Edge Band Room (HD9 2AQ) to showcase their preparations ahead of their appearance.
