The death has been announced of Carole Salter

4BR has been informed of the death of the respected Brass Bands England (BBE) office administrator, Carole Salter, who passed away on 18th April.

Carole retired from BBE in October 2021 following 11 years of dedicated service to the organisation, which followed a career in politics as a parliamentary secretary.

Outstanding servant

Speaking on behalf of BBE, Chairman Mike Kilroy said: "Carole was an outstanding servant to BBE and brass bands for the years she worked in our Barnsley office, where she was a familiar voice on the end of the phone to hundreds of our members.

She was also a great friend to us all and a highly trusted colleague, and the whole team was extremely shocked on hearing this very sad news. We send our deepest condolences to Carole's family and many friends."

BBE will pass on Carole's funeral details when they become available.
