The final call has gone out for bands wishing to compete in the 15th annual Morley March & Hymn Tune Contest. The closing date for entries is Friday 26th May.
The contest will take place on Sunday 25th June from 12.30pm in Morley and is open to all band from Championship Section to Youth. The contest is pre-drawn, and confirmation of playing times will be issued to all those entered before the end of May.
Prize pot
There's a total prize pot of £2000, with prizes available for 'Best' in every section and a first prize of £600 along with a total of 15 cash prizes and trophies.
There is also a special prize which offers a chance for bands to win the services of Tom Smith (principal cornet of British Open and Brass in Concert champions Brighouse & Rastrick) as a guest soloist at a local concert.
A prize draw will take place on the contest day, with one lucky band grabbing this fantastic opportunity.
