Death of Tim Pratt

The death has been announced of the popular Hatfield & Askern Colliery cornet player Tim Pratt.

Tom Pratt was an outstanding cornet player with Hatfield & Askern Colliery Band

Hatfield & Askern Colliery Band's performance at the recent British Open Spring Festival in Blackpool was overshadowed by the news of the untimely death of cornet player Tim Pratt.

A friend to players and supporters alike from the band and the wider movement, he was regarded as an outstanding cornet player having led Hatfield Band and then Hatfield & Askern Colliery Band on many occasions.

Humour

A spokesperson said: "Tim had a sharp sense of humour, liked a 'roll-up', a love of dogs, walking and rambling, kept an eye on the horses, and was, according to himself, a cricketer of County standard."

They added: "Over the last few years Tim had struggled with life and the world in general, and we are deeply saddened by his passing at such a young age. We hope now that he can rest in peace. We extend our sincere sympathies to his close family and friends."

Funeral arrangements

Funeral arrangements are not yet known. Details will be posted on the band's social media accounts.
