Sunscreen and Ralgex for Crookston

Brass Bands England CEO Kenny Crookston will be in the saddle this weekend to raise money for the BBE Brass Foundations team.

Crookston
  It's all downhill from Scotland...

Brass Bands England CEO, Kenny Crookston is putting the finishing touches to his hi-tech preparations ahead of his 100 mile cycle ride this weekend to help raise funds for BBE's Brass Foundations work.

Sunscreen and Ralgex

Extra energy boosting jelly babies, high energy drinks, sunscreen and Ralgex cream will be on hand to help him as he dons the aerodynamic lycra to take part in the exhausting Ford RideLondon-Essex 100 cycle ride Sunday 28th May to raise funds for the ongoing work of the highly successful education programme.

It will see the Scotsman race 100 miles through London, into Essex and back again, ending in a spectacular finish on London's Tower Bridge.

Extra miles

Kenny has been a keen cyclist for many years and has already got a CV accolade for the mammoth John O' Groats to Land's End trip he made in 2011.

This time though he has racked up a few extra miles in training. "I've done quite a bit more this time and really enjoyed it. I don't think I'll pushing Geraint Thomas for a place on the Tour de France this year, but I'll be just as happy when I get to the finish."

4BR funds

Kenny is also determined to finish not only to raise funds for the successful work of the Brass Foundations team, but to get £100 off 4BR Editor Iwan Fox.

"He can't get out of his promise now — although he has stated that he wants a verified picture of me as I cross the line. Then he'll pay up!"
