Ty Cerdd, the official Welsh Section of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) has issued an invitation for Welsh or Wales based composers to submit works for considerations for 'World New Music Days' (WNMD) that will take place in Torshavn in the Faroe Islands between the 22nd and 30th June 2024.

International showcase

The festival is an annual international showcase of new music — representing contemporary work from across the globe.

Although there is no specific brass band section, there are 18 categories for which submissions are invited — including those with both brass and percussion instrument elements.

The submission process to the ISCM Welsh Section is free of charge with the panel of Lynne Plowman (Chair of ISCM Welsh Section), Deborah Keyser (Director, TÅ· Cerdd) and Ashley John Long (ISCM Selected Composer, 2021) assessing the submissions.

They will put forward six works as the official submission to the ISCM.

Further information

As an ISCM Associate Member, our submission must cover at least four of the specified categories. A minimum of one of these six pieces will be selected by WNMD 2024 for a guaranteed performance.
