Midlands bands ready for Corby challenges

72 bands will compete at the Midlands Regional Championships in Corby over the next two weekends.

  The Midlands Regional Championships take place over the next two weekends

72 bands will compete at the Midlands Regional Championships over the next two weekends at Corby Business Academy in Northants (NN17 5EB)

Two weekends

Saturday 2nd March will see 14 bands competing in the Second Section, where two bands will qualify for the National Final, followed by the 15 bands in the First Section where 3 bands will head to Cheltenham. The action kicks off at 9.00am.

Sunday 3rd March will see 16 bands compete in the Third Section (3 qualification places), followed by the Championship Section. The defending champion is the GUS Band. Two bands will be invited to compete at the Royal Albert Hall National Finals.

On Sunday 10th March, 15 bands will compete in the Fourth Section (11.00am start), where 3 bands will qualify for the National Final.

February 27 • We are a friendly, non-contesting band who have the following vacancies:. Trombones, 2nd Horn, Back Row Cornets, Percussion. . We rehearse every Thursday in Harlow, 8-10pm and play at local events throughout the year.

February 27 • Newmarket Town Band is inviting applications for the post of 'Musical Director'. We are a non-contesting band who play to a high standard with regular bookings throughout the year. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays 7:30 - 9:30pm
