The experienced Luke Pallister is the latest signing at Newstead Brass.

Newstead Brass has announced that the experienced Luke Pallister has joined the band on solo cornet.

Experience

Starting his musical journey with the Salvation Army in Nottingham, he became principal cornet at Stamford Brass Band at just 17.

He went on to study at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and the Royal Northern College of Music, where he was principal cornet of the RNCM Brass Band.

He has enjoyed playing with the likes of Leyland, Grimethorpe and Foden's and has developed his conducting with Farnworth & Walkden who he took to their first ever qualification for the Second Section National Final.

Exciting time

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Luke joins Newstead at an exciting time we prepare for upcoming performances and contests.

His appointment demonstrates the band's ongoing commitment to musical excellence."
