Fairlop Brass have been performing throughout the summer

Fairlop Brass continues to maintain a busy schedule of community events to bridge the summer gap before a return to the contesting year.

Netherlands

The band recently competed two popular concerts in aid of local churches St Francis and St Nicholas which raised over £2,200 whilst final preparations are being put in place for 40 players and supporters to head off to The Netherlands.

Once there they will head to the historic town of Delph to perform a concert as well as in Utrecht.

Westminster Abbey

In addition, they will make a return to London to perform a lunchtime concert in the Gardens of Westminster Abbey on 21st August, as well as playing the music for the wedding of Eb tuba player James Rogers to round off a busy and memorable summer.

Fairlop Brass was founded as a Junior School Band in 1968 it has only had two Musical Directors since, including for the past 40 years, Kevin Jordan.

Six of the current members of the band were at the original Junior School together, as is their first brass teacher.
