The latest major CD release from World of Brass will be officially released at the National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall on the weekend.

'Another World' by Brighouse & Rastrick Band features special guests Isobel Daws and Onyx Brass.

Albert Hall launch

It can be currently enjoyed on the www.wobplay.com multi-media platform but the CD will be available to buy from Saturday — so if you are at the Royal Albert Hall make sure you go to the World of Brass stand to get your copy.

It is a special feature of the music of composer Dorothy Gates, with major works, solo and ensemble pieces conducted by Dr Jonathan Corry.

Isobel Daws and Onyx Brass

Isobel Daws performs the trombone concerto 'Servant of Peace', whilst Onyx Brass provide the title track, 'Another World'.

In addition, there is the flowing flugel solo 'As With Gladness' played by Mike Eccles, and up-beat trumpet solo 'Cantad a Jehova' played by Nial Keatley of Onyx Brass. Tuba star Shaun Crowther enjoys the Marvin Hamlisch hit 'Nobody loves me better', whilst Isobel Daws is joined by Ellena Newton, Charlotte Horsfield and Steve Lomas for 'Ballyhornan'.

There is also the opportunity to enjoy 'Invisible Fire', as well as feature works such as the sprightly opener, 'War Cry', the arrangements of 'Be Still' by Jean Sibelius, 'See What a Morning' by Getty and Townend and 'Jounetsu-Tairiku' by Taro Hakase, as well as Dorothy Gates' own 'Georgetown'.
