The Scottish Brass Band Association becomes a Trinity College London Exam Centre — and you can find out more this evening.

SBBA has linked up with Trinity College London

The Scottish Brass Band Association has announced its new status as a Trinity College London Exam Centre offering practical brass music grade exams.

January 2025

Starting in January 2025 a piano accompanist will be available for the exams taking place at Bellshill Salvation Army Hall, Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, and also a rehearsal prior to the exam day, although candidates may also choose to bring their own accompanist.

Eventually SBBA plans to provide additional Trinity Exam opportunities at other locations and times in the future.

Interested teachers, parents, bands and individuals are asked to complete a Google Form for more information regarding these Trinity College Exams facilitated by SBBA.

Zoom webinar

Interested parties are also invited to attend a Zoom webinar on Wednesday 9th October at 8.00pm to learn more about the scheme through this form.

The session will be facilitated by SBBA Project Officer Gareth Bowman and Education Officer John Boax with contributions from J.J Wheeler, National Development Manager, Trinity College London, regarding the exam process.

Global leader

He commented to 4BR: "Trinity College London, as a global leader in music and arts qualifications, is excited to provide a prestigious pathway for musicians associated with the Scottish Brass Band Association, ensuring that the diverse talents within the community are recognised and nurtured."
