  The Purcell School will hold its Taster Day in January

The Purcell School in London is to host a Woodwind, Brass & Percussion 'Taster Day' on Sunday 19th January.

It is being aimed at players in Years 6-11 who play at Grade 6 standard and above.

Attendees will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside The Purcell Wind Orchestra and the London Youth Concert Band.

Brass connections

Brass players they will get the opportunity to meet up with Mike Cavanagh, the baritone soloist with Black Dyke Band who was appointed as the new Head of Wind, Brass & Percussion in September for a special Q&A session.

The deadline for registration is Sunday 17th January.

A spokesperson for The Purcell School told 4BR: "This is a fantastic opportunity for young players and we look forward to welcoming as many players and their families as possible."
