The City of Bath Band has announced the appointment of Jason Andrews as its new Musical Director.

The Head of Music at Rednock School has gained wide ranging experience as a performer and conductor, playing trombone for the likes of Wotton Silver, Filton Concert and Bath Philharmonia.

He has also directed numerous concerts and competitions within the education sector and is currently MD for Dursley Big Band.

Looking forward

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Jason has a wealth of experience in education, brass bands and ensembles and we're really looking forward to him sharing his expertise and enthusiasm with us."

In response Jason added: "I'm delighted to be appointed and I'm looking forward to working with an enthusiastic and committed group of musicians.

There are clearly so many positives to take from my audition for the role and I'm confident for our shared ambitions. We've got plenty to look forward to in 2025 and I can't wait to get started."

Thanks

The band took the opportunity to thank outgoing MD Martin Perry for his 10 years of hard work with them a decade in which he helped them maintain a competitive level in the West of England Third Section.
