One of the most inventive musical pop collaborations of recent time occurred in 1981, when Louis Clark of the Electric Light Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra combined some of the greatest classical music themes with a disco beat to create 'Hooked on Classics'.
It was the number 2 single in the UK and stayed on the US Billboard album chart for 68 weeks.
Hooked on Gospel
'Hooked on Gospel' is Thomas Hulten's tribute to this musical milestone and consists of four well-known Gospel songs; 'Down by the Riverside', 'The Old Rugged Cross', 'By and By' (When the Morning Comes) and finally 'Ev'ry Time I Feel the Spirit' — to get your feet tapping in true evangelical disco style.
