One of the welcome features of the RNCM International Brass Band Festival is the inclusion of youngsters to share the musical spotlight with elite level bands and world class soloists.

In addition to the performances of the RNCM Brass Band and Junior RNCM Band, the Macclesfield Youth Brass Band will take to the RNCM Theatre stage at 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon under the direction of their inspirational conductor Louise Renshaw.

Contrasting works

The band is certainly showcasing their talents with contrasting works from Philip Sparke, Eric Ball and Charles Doughty to Philip Harper, Thomas Gansch and even a little bit of Hairspray.

They will also be joined by a special guest soloist too.

We caught up with Louise to find out more…
