The Association recently held its AGM

The Association of Brass Band Adjudicators (AoBBA) recently held is hybrid AGM, where members were able to address the formal and informal agenda issues in person or on-line.

Before the start of the AGM a minute's silence was held in respect to those lost to the banding world in the last year — including former President, David Read.

Topics

As well as the business of the AGM, a range of topics regarding adjudication were presented and discussed, including 'Continuing Professional Development' (CPD) 'Different Ways of Providing Adjudication' (Dr Howard Evans); 'Whit Friday: Adjudicating in Large Quantities' (Sam Fisher); 'A Method for Clarification of Adjudication' (Steven Mead) and 'The Science & Practice of Performance Evaluation' by Dr. George Waddell.

There were also discussions on responses to a members' survey — all of which it was stated, will help inform the plan of the Association's action for the next three years
