Welsh conductor charged with sex offences

It has now been publicly reported that the former Welsh Conductor of the Year, Gareth Ritter will appear on trial in Crown Court in November.

According to the WalesOnline website and various national media outlets, the 43 year old will appear at Cardiff Crown Court charged with sexual assault, two counts of making an indecent image of a child and one count of distributing an indecent image of a child.

Resigned

The assistant head and music teacher has been suspended from the teaching register implemented by the Education Workforce Council, the statutory teaching regulator in Wales.

He appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court in November and recently resigned his positions as Musical Director of Ebbw Valley Band and conductor of Lydbrook Band.
