Brass Bands Northern Ireland (BBNI) has told 4BR that it is delighted to be able to once again host its annual Solos & Ensembles competition.

It is being held on Saturday 15th February at the Paton Halls on the Lisburn Road in the centre of Belfast and will welcome brass players from across Northern Ireland and beyond to showcase their performance talents.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We are delighted to be able to run the event again and welcome our highly respected adjudicator Chris Wormald, who will have the difficult job of adjudicating our Senior Room ensembles.

BBNI are also delighted to announce that homegrown musician and conductor Charles Fyffe will be adjudicating the 18 and unders.

There will be plenty of silverware up for grabs on the day, however the focus of the event is on taking part, supporting our brass musicians and having fun!"

Entrance to the event is free, although a donation to support the work of BBNI is very welcome.
